Balance
A range is balanced when the strong hands and the bluffs you take a given line with are mixed in a proportion that leaves an opponent no free answer, because folding always and calling always both cost them money.
It is a defensive idea. An unbalanced range is not automatically bad, it is simply readable, and it only loses money against someone who reads it. Betting only your best hands is fine until people notice and stop paying.
Balance is also expensive to maintain against opponents who are not adjusting. Against a player who folds too often you make more by bluffing more than any balanced mix would allow, so balance is the fallback rather than the goal.
an example
your cards
board
You bet the flop with a hand that has no pair but can make the best flush. The same bet comes from your queens and your sets, so the opponent cannot tell them apart, and the hands you are bluffing with are the ones that can still improve.
This example is made up. The real one is in your own hand history: find balance in your own hands and see how often it came up and what it cost you.
