Privacy statement

Which data

Account data. Your email address, username, display name and whatever you fill in yourself, such as your stake level, game type and possibly a short bio. Your email address is needed in order to sign in.

Poker data. The hand histories you upload, the hands and sessions derived from them, your tournament results, your Poker IQ scores, the patterns detected in your play and the statistics per position. Hand histories also contain the usernames of opponents as the poker site supplies them; we use those solely to analyse your own play against them.

Usage data. Your answers to daily hands and quizzes, bot matches played, XP earned, achievements and your streak.

Conversations with Pokiq Coach. The questions you ask and the answers, plus the player context that is sent along so that the coach knows your situation: your scope, your IQ scores, your stake, your game type, your number of hands and your most important patterns.

Payment data. With a paid subscription, a customer and subscription reference and the status of your subscription. Your card details do not reach Pokiq; they go straight to the payment service provider.

Visitor statistics. Aggregated figures about page visits, without cookies and without per person profiles. That measurement is currently switched off: no analytics script is loaded, so nothing leaves your browser. What the site does store in your browser is listed on the cookie page.

Why, and on what legal basis

Account, poker, usage and coach data are processed in order to perform the agreement with you: without that data there is no analysis and therefore no service. Payment data is processed to perform the agreement and to meet our record keeping obligation. Visitor statistics are processed on the basis of legitimate interest, and are set up so that you cannot personally be identified from them.

Pokiq does not use your data for advertising and does not sell it.

Who it is shared with

Pokiq engages the following parties as processors. They may only use your data to deliver their service to Pokiq.

For parties outside the European Economic Area, transfer takes place on the basis of the standard contractual clauses of the European Commission or an equivalent safeguard.

Note on Pokiq Coach. If you use the coach, your question and the player context described above go to Anthropic's language model. If you would rather that did not happen, do not use the coach; the rest of Pokiq works without it.

What other people see about you

Pokiq has a leaderboard and public profiles. Taking part in the leaderboard is on by default, and it shows your username, your display name and your Poker IQ score to other users. You can switch that off in your settings. Your hand histories, your conversations with the coach and your email address are never visible to others.

How long it is kept

For as long as your account exists, because your progress over time is exactly what the service rests on. If you delete your account, your personal data, hand histories and coach conversations are deleted or irreversibly detached from you. Data we are legally required to keep, such as invoicing data, we keep until that period expires.

You can delete your account yourself, directly in your settings. No email request is needed for that.

Your rights

You may access your data, have it corrected, have it deleted, take it with you to another service, and object to processing based on legitimate interest. Most of it you arrange directly in your settings; for the rest you can get in touch through the about page.

If you disagree with how Pokiq handles your data, you can lodge a complaint with the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

Security

Your data sits behind authentication and is shielded per user at the database level. Uploaded hand histories are held in non public storage where only your own folder is accessible to you. Traffic goes over TLS. Complete security does not exist, and in the event of a data breach that affects you we will inform you and the supervisory authority as the law prescribes.

Changes

If the way Pokiq processes data changes, this statement is updated and the date at the top is changed with it. In the case of far reaching changes we will actively let you know.
