Hand of the day
Every day, players in Pokiq get one hand put in front of them where there is genuinely something to decide. Once the day is over the hand comes here, with the answer underneath it and the expected value of every option that was on the table. There are 100 of them so far.
You do not have to be good at this to read along. If you are still working out what beats what, the poker hand rankings answer that in one table, and the rules of Texas Hold'em explain the four betting rounds every one of these hands runs through. Any word you do not recognise is in the poker glossary .
Today's hand is not here, and that is on purpose. You should play that one before you read what it was worth.
How to read the answer
Each option on a hand page carries an expected value: the average result of picking it, in the same unit as the amounts in that hand. The best option is simply the highest number. The gap to the second best matters more, because that gap is what choosing wrong actually costs. Some spots are decided by a hundredth of a big blind and some by ten whole ones, and the difference between those two kinds of spot is worth more than any single answer. If you would rather practise than read, the free Hold'em table deals forty hands against a bot that folds when it should.

A few days are missing from this list. A hand only gets a page here once every card and every number in it has been checked, and the ones that did not pass are left out rather than published with something in them that nobody verified.
Questions
What is the hand of the day?
One poker hand a day with a real decision in it. You pick what you would do, and then you see what every option was worth and what the others would have cost you.
Is today's hand on this page?
No. Only days that have finished. Today's hand is in Pokiq, and reading the answer before you have played it takes the whole point out of it.
Do I need an account to read these?
No. All 100 pages in this archive are free to read and ask for nothing. Playing today's hand in Pokiq is free as well. Keeping a streak and working back through the archive inside the app is the part that asks for a free account.
Where do the numbers come from?
Every option carries the expected value of picking it, taken from the solution to that spot. Nothing on these pages is typed over by hand: the cards, the amounts and the values all come straight from the hand itself, and a hand that cannot be checked does not get a page.
How many hands are there?
100 right now, and one more every day once the day is over.
next in the app
In Pokiq this is a daily habit rather than an archive. The spot you get is picked against the leaks in your own hand history, and a streak counts how many days in a row you have kept it up. Today's hand is free to play. The streak is what asks you to make an account, which is free and takes no payment details.
