Squeeze
A squeeze is a reraise made after one player has raised and at least one other has called, which puts the callers between two aggressive actions.
It works because the callers are in an awkward spot by construction. They have shown a hand good enough to call but not to raise, so they fold often, and the original raiser now has to beat both you and whatever is behind them.
The extra dead money is the reason the size can be large. With a raise and a call already in the pot there is more to win than in a normal three bet, and the same fold percentage is worth more than it would otherwise be.
