TAG
also called tight aggressive
A TAG is a player who enters few pots and plays the ones they enter aggressively, which is the most common shape of a winning style.
The two halves work together. Playing few hands means the ones you have are usually stronger than the opposition, and playing them aggressively is what collects the value that strength is worth.
The failure mode is becoming predictable. A player who only ever bets with a strong hand is easy to fold against, which is why the aggressive half has to include some hands that are not there yet.

A TAG might play around 20% of hands and raise almost all of them. Facing a raise from that player with ace queen, you are usually up against a hand that is genuinely worth raising, which is exactly the point of the style.
