Gutshot
also called inside straight draw
A gutshot is a straight draw missing one card in the middle, so only one rank completes it and only four cards in the deck will do.
Four outs is 8.5% on the turn and 16.5% by the river from the flop, which is roughly half of what an open ended draw offers. That is usually not enough to call a normal bet on its own.
What makes gutshots worth having is what comes with them. Combined with two overcards or a flush draw the count climbs quickly, and a gutshot on its own is mostly a reason to bluff rather than a reason to call.
