Open ended straight draw
also called OESD
An open ended straight draw is four cards in a row where a card at either end completes the straight, which gives it eight outs.
Eight outs is 17.0% on the turn and 31.5% by the river from the flop, twice what a gutshot offers and enough to call most normal bets when the price is reasonable.
The count is honest only if the straight would actually win. On a board with two cards of a suit the same eight outs are worth less, because some of the cards that make your straight also make somebody a flush.
