Polarized
A range is polarized when it consists of very strong hands and bluffs with almost nothing in between, which is the shape that justifies a large bet.
The reason big bets and polarized ranges go together is that the medium hands have nothing to gain. They fold out worse and get called by better, so they check, and what is left betting is the top and the bottom.
The opposite shape is a linear or merged range, where you bet everything above a certain strength. That wants a smaller size, because the hands in it are trying to get called by hands just slightly worse rather than to fold anything out.
