Button
also called the dealer button, BTN
The button is the disc marking which seat is treated as the dealer for that hand, and it moves one place to the left after every hand.
It matters because it fixes the order of play. The two players to its left post the blinds, and after the flop the player on the button acts last in every betting round, which is the single most useful seat at the table.
In a home game the button also says whose turn it is to deal. Online and in a casino somebody else deals, and the disc only marks position.

your cards
board
You are on the button with a hand that is not much yet. Everyone else has to act before you on the flop, the turn and the river, so you see what they do first every time. That is worth more than most starting hands.
This example is made up. The real one is in your own hand history: find button in your own hands and see how often it came up and what it cost you.
