Flop

The flop is the first three community cards, dealt face up all at once after the first round of betting in Texas Hold'em.

They belong to everybody. Both players build their best five card hand from their own two cards and the shared ones, which is why the flop can help two people at the same time and hurt them in different ways.

It is the round where most of the information arrives. You go from two cards to five, so a hand that was a maybe before the flop is usually either something or nothing after it.

your cards

board

The flop pairs your king, so you now have a pair of kings with an ace kicker. The other two cards are low and of different suits, which means there is not much on this board yet for anyone to have made against you.

This example is made up. The real one is in your own hand history: find flop in your own hands and see how often it came up and what it cost you.
