Dry board
also called static board
A dry board is a flop where few draws are possible, so the hand that is best now is very likely to still be best on the river.
Dry boards suit the player with the stronger range rather than the player with the stronger hand. Nobody has much, almost nothing can change, and a small bet is enough to make hands with no pair give up.
They are also the boards where slow playing costs the least, because there are few cards that can turn a made hand into a loser. That is the mirror image of a connected board, where the same check gives away far more.
